As a group of ASU graduate students in wood, we decided to break away from the conventional and create something immersive for ASU’s Night Gallery. After bouncing around several ideas, we finally landed on a bold, collaborative vision—one where the environment itself would become art, and the art would serve as both support and structure.
We were tired of the predictable art shows dominating campus—rows of white-washed pedestals showcasing tiny, isolated objects. It felt uninspired, and we wanted to challenge that norm. This exhibition is our response, a commentary on the mundane status quo.
Unlike typical group shows where individual artists carve out their own space, we embraced a fully collective approach. Every concept was proposed together, and every element was brought to life through shared effort. The result? An immersive installation highlighting whimsy and intrigue—where boundaries between art, support, and space are blurred into a cohesive experience.
